Lyrics
Welcome, please have a seat. We will be playing an audio fragment and your task is to write down each word you hear. Sounds simple? Good. This is the listening exam if you were wondering. If you weren't, nevermind.
In order to show the lyrics in VR and have them be synced to the song I needed to, well get the lyrics and sync them to the track.
I looked around in a few places but there were no lyrics out yet for this album. Although Zanski did release a few lyric cards (see below) so those were a good help.
Not every word is on there and sometimes some are a bit out of place but it was a good start. I listened to Forest Spirit Sound a few times over and noted down the lyrics and corrected them where needed. Once I had the lyrics I also wanted to roughly sync them to the track. For each line I wrote down the starting time in ms since the track started. So for example "Why can't I talk about it?" starts 26 seconds in, so that would be 26000. I also took into account if a line started mid second, right after or right before the next. These are estimates for now but should be pretty good for a test. I want to make a quick demo using performance.now() to keep track of miliseconds since the song started playing. Expect a demo soon-ish.
